Your Force Fleet Tracking RoadScore gives you insight into your driving habits. A consistently higher RoadScore can help you save money on gas and reduce wear and tear on your vehicle.
How it works:
RoadScore measures and analyzes driving behavior to generate a score for each trip you make, based on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the highest score possible.
Actions included in the measurement:
- Rapid accels: Number of times the driver rapidly accelerated during the trip.
- Minutes speeding: Time spent driving above the speed limit.
- Harsh brakes: Aggressive braking behavior.
The RoadScore feature displays a total count of the above metrics, a score for the trip based on these metrics, and your average RoadScore overall.
Notes:
-
Rapid accels and harsh brakes:
- Rapid accels: Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity per unit of time, which increases g-force pressure. A rapid acceleration event is where the acceleration experienced is greater than or equal to 300 milliG (0.3 g). This event indicates that the driver pressed the accelerator pedal aggressively, causing the vehicle to quickly gain speed. Harsh acceleration can lead to increased fuel consumption and wear on the vehicle, as well as potential discomfort for the passengers.
- Harsh brakes: Conversely, the device accelerometer also records deceleration and will record a harsh brake if the vehicle speed decreases rapidly in a short period. A sudden or forceful braking event is where the deceleration experienced is greater than or equal to 150 milliG (0.15 g) and less than 1.5 g. This event indicates that the driver applied the brakes abruptly, potentially causing discomfort for the vehicle's occupants and increasing the risk of an accident.

Trip not scored:
- Trip too short: This message may appear if your trip was less than 100 yards, or the ignition was turned on but the car didn't move.
- Trip not scored: This message may appear because your hardware is loose or not plugged in properly.
