In rare cases, your vehicle can react abnormally when you turn the vehicle on after plugging in a device for the first time. This may include dashboard lights being lit or flashing (including your engine warning light) and/or your vehicle alarm going off. Often, this is the result of a loose connection between the device and the OBD port.
Steps to correct unusual behavior:
-
If anything out of the ordinary occurs when starting your vehicle after plugging in your device, the best thing to do is to get the vehicle back to its original state. Turn the engine off, unplug the device, and lock your vehicle. This should stop the alarm from going off (if that was the issue).
-
Issues sometimes may be caused by a loose connection. Turn your vehicle off, remove the device, and wait 20 minutes or so; then, carefully re-insert the Force device and confirm physical connection stability. Does the device fit snugly into the OBD port? If the connection seems loose, remove the device and contact customer support (see Step 5).
-
If the device fits snugly, check that the lights are both green (power is solid and the network is blinking) and turn the engine on. If your alarm goes off again, repeat Step 1 and contact customer service.
-
If the issue is not your alarm, check if your dashboard lights are operating normally. If there are still unexpected issues, repeat Step 1 and contact customer service.
-
If nothing corrects the issue, turn off your vehicle, remove the device, and contact customerservice@forcefleettracking.com.
