Instructions for installing your Force Fleet Tracking Trakview dashcam will be included in its package and are also explained in the app as you go through the installation process.
Alternatively, detailed instructions are below, or you can review this easy-to-follow video:
Installation instructions:
- Get the app and sign in: You will need the Force Fleet Tracking app to onboard your dashcams, which you can download from either Google Play or the Apple Store. If this is your first time in the app, you will be prompted to sign in. Use the email address you used when you signed up and create a password.
- Assemble the dashcam: Connect the power cable to dashcam and OBD plug.
-
Mount dashcam:
- Ensure that the windshield is clean and dry where you are going to mount the dashcam.
- Release the suction plate lever on the mounting arm, position dashcam at your preferred windshield location, and suction dashcam to windshield by closing the suction plate lever while pushing it against windshield.
- If dashcam is not sticking to windshield, use the mounting sticker that came with your dashcam package.
-
Plug in the dashcam:
- Ensure vehicle is parked in area with good cellular coverage and ignition is off.
- Insert device OBD plug into vehicle OBD port, which is usually under driver dashboard. (IMPORTANT: Do not plug a dashcam into a Class 6 vehicle or higher; it will damage the dashcam.)
- Start the vehicle.
- Let dashcam initiate: Wait while dashcam is detected by the Force platform. Depending on your cellular strength, this may take a minute. The dashcam may also automatically update its firmware; if so, the camera will say "Updating firmware." Once the update is finished, it will say "Completed updating."
- Set up vehicle: Once the dashcam is detected, follow instructions in the Set Up Vehicle screens.
- Start Live Feed: Once your vehicle details are complete, you will be instructed to start the Live Feed in the app. Once you see the camera feed on your phone, use the view to finish positioning the dashcam. If you need to change the tilt of the camera, remember to press down on the Tilt Adjustment Button to release the arm lock.
- Hide cable: Use the included tuck tool to hide the cable around edge of windshield.
Possible issues
- If camera has no power, ensure OBD dongle is firmly inserted into vehicle OBD port and power cord is connected to dashcam.
- If you are having a hard time connecting, ensure you are in good cellular range.
- If Live Feed is not loading, minute for a minute or so. If it will not load at all, contact support.
- Check dashcam LEDs:
- PWR solid red: The dashcam has power from the OBD-II port.
- PWR solid green: Dashcam using device battery only; check that OBD plug is firmly inserted into OBD port and that dashcam power cable is connected.
- REC solid red: Normal recording.
- REC blinking slow red: An event is being recorded to the SD card.
- REC blinking rapid red: Possible SD card issue; check SD card is present; if so, try resolving issue by removing and reinserting SD card.
- LTE solid green: Connected to the LTE network.
- LTE blinking rapid green: Connecting to the LTE network; if condition persists (beyond 30 seconds), there is a connection issue.
- LTE solid red: SIM card issue. Check SIM card is present; if so, try resolving issue by removing and reinserting SIM card.
- For any other combination of lights (multiple rapid blinking, only one LED on, etc.), contact support.
- If no video on internal camera view, ensure privacy cover is open.
- If dashcam is not sticking to windshield, ensure both mounting plate and windshield are clean and dry. Alternately, you can use the mounting sticker that came with your dashcam package.
