This article describes how to use the Alerts Settings panel to control what alerts you get, when you get them, and how they’re delivered.
How it works
To manage your alert settings, tap your profile pic and then Alert Settings. On the Alert Settings page, tap EDIT, upper right, to enable editing.
Setting event alerts
Use the ON/OFF toggles to set which alerts you want to be notified of. In the example below, events are being toggled OFF.
IMPORTANT: Turning off an event toggle will suppress it completely in the app. This means it will not appear on your ALERTS page and no notifications will be generated (even if you have a notification channel such as SMS enabled).
NOTE: Because harsh braking does not generate an alert, there is no setting to toggle harsh braking on or off.
Using the “global” settings
Use the top “global” settings to set which notifications channels, if any, that you’d like to be notified on and when to be notified.
- By default, in-app push notifications are enabled. You can also enable email and SMS notifications.
- The Active During option let's you chose from anytime, business hours, or off-hours only. (You set your business hours in the Profile tab).
For example, you might want to get SMS notifications on your phone directly for alerts that occur after work hours. In that case, set Active During to Off hours only and check to be notified via the SMS option. This will generate an SMS for all events that are enabled (set to ON) outside of normal business hours. Custom settings can also be made for individual events, as described below.
Individual event customization
You can also customize settings for each event individually by tapping the event name and using the customization panel that pops up. NOTE: To customize an event, it must be enabled (toggled on).
For example, if you open the Speeding panel, you can customize it to be notified if a vehicle exceeds a certain speed, when to be notified, which vehicles in your fleet it applies to, and which channels to receive notifications on.
Clearing customizations
Once you have created any sort of custom settings, you can clear all settings or any custom setting by doing the following:
- Clear all: In the main Alert Settings panel, tap Clear Customizations. This will clear all custom settings for any event.
- Clear a single custom setting: Open an individual event and tap Clear Customization. This will clear custom settings for just that event.
